Introducing No. 07 — Aches & Ease: a warming cup for long days.
September 2026 · 4 min read · The House
There is a particular kind of tired that arrives at the end of a genuinely long day. The move that took all weekend. The double shift. The first afternoon back in the garden after a winter off. It is not an emergency; it is simply a body that has been thoroughly used, and an evening that calls for something warm.
We made a tea for that evening. It is called No. 07 — Aches & Ease, and it joins the collection this week — the seventh numbered tin in the Blooming Advice library, and the first new blend since the original six.
What is actually in the tin
Aches & Ease is built the way every Blooming Advice blend is built: one idea, a short ingredient list, and nothing that does not earn its place in the cup.
The base is dried ginger root from Kerala, sliced and slow-dried so its warmth opens gradually rather than arriving all at once. Alongside it sits golden turmeric root, harvested from neighboring plots, which gives the infusion its deep amber color and a soft, earthy roundness. Whole chamomile blossoms — the same Beni Suef flowers we use in No. 01 — settle the blend and lend their familiar apple-and-honey sweetness. A little dried citrus peel keeps the finish bright, and a few cracked black peppercorns add a quiet edge that makes the cup feel complete.
The result tastes like the color it pours: warm, golden and unhurried. It takes honey beautifully. It is naturally caffeine-free, so it belongs to the late end of the day — after dinner, after the dishes, after whatever the day was.
A word about the name — and what this tea is not
We named this blend carefully, and we want to be equally careful about what we say next.
Aches & Ease is named for a moment: the hour when the boots come off and the kettle goes on. It is not named for a result. This is tea — a food, made from plants that people around the world have steeped for centuries simply because they taste warming and comforting. It is not a medicine. It will not treat, cure or prevent anything, and we will never suggest otherwise. If something genuinely hurts, the right call is a conversation with a doctor, not a tin of botanicals — however handsome the tin.
What we can promise is the part we control: exceptional ingredients, honestly sourced, blended in small batches at our Maryland studio, and a cup that makes the end of a hard day feel a little more deliberate. That has always been the whole idea of this house. A quiet ritual, in every cup.
How we brew it
Ginger and turmeric are roots, and roots like heat. Use a full, heaping tablespoon per cup and water at a proper boil — around 208°F. Give it six to eight minutes, longer than you would a delicate floral, and resist the urge to stir it along; patience does the work here. Serve it in the biggest mug in the cupboard, with a spoon of honey if the day earned one.
Two further notes from the tasting table: the blend is generous enough to hold its character through a second pour, which makes it a fine late-evening pot for two. And a splash of warm oat milk, added after steeping, turns it into something close to a golden latte — slower, softer, and very good on a cold night.
How to order it
Like everything we make, Aches & Ease is ordered in bulk, arranged by phone. There is no cart and no checkout page. You tell us what you have in mind — a case of tins for the household, pouches for a café program, welcome-box quantities for a hotel — and a member of the house calls you back within one business day with pricing, availability and a delivery schedule. Samples are available before you commit to anything at all.
Full ingredient, origin and preparation details live on the No. 07 — Aches & Ease product page. When you are ready — or simply curious — the form takes about two minutes.
